Podcast: Not Listening to Your Intuition?
Intuition seems to be an illusive thing in our modern day life. A skill that we were never taught to harness or how to understand fully. Why? Because intuition has often been left in the realm of the hocus pocus and the world of woo woo.
Yet, every single one of us, have had a gut feeling at some stage in our life, where we just knew we should avoid a situation, or to get involved in one. This was our intuition speaking!
Our intuition is our internal process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning. It is the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious worlds, designed to support us navigating this physical dimension.
Many gifts come to those who harness this ability, and benefits could include: ability to listen to your inner voice, being in tune with the needs of your body, deep connections with others, access to synchronistic opportunities in work, romance and in play and much more.
Here are some signs you may be lacking connection to your intuition:
1. Drama is everywhere
One of the most obvious signs you are out of touch with your intuition is the appearance of chaos and drama in your life. High altitudes of drama often means you are not listening to your internal compass and as a result allowing chaos to enter. At times listening to our intuition can be hard, as it may mean we need to change relationships, let go of people that are no longer serving us, shift jobs, move house or take a stand for a new way of living. All of this change can be scary, so we often we ignore our intuition until it becomes too unbearable to handle and we are forced to change.
2. You are allowing “what if” to control you
Is there something you want to do in your life but it feels a little too risky? This desire to do it, is often your intuition speaking. And the impulse to hold back because of doubt and fear of the many “what if’s” in your mind is blocking you. I suggest taking more risks, and if you fail… you have learned something!
3. You are feeling confused
Confusion often comes with a lot of thoughts, overwhelm and inability to think clearly. This is a clear sign that you are not in tune with your intuition. Since you have allowed your thoughts to run away with you, your priority has become more involved in listening to the constant chatter, rather that the wise silence that intuition brings to your doorstep.
4. You are looking outside of yourself for answers
When you find yourself depending on the people around you for answers, it is possible you are not listening to your own internal compass. Those around you may have good intentions, however they are not you and can only give you an answer based on their own personal perspective. Your perspective may actually be different than theirs, and the only way to find out is to listen to your intuition.
5. You feel disconnected from a higher power
When you are connected to your intuition you often have a sense that their is a higher power guiding your life. You may call this higher power; god, the universe, spirit, or any other name. Regardless of the name, when you are disconnected from your intuition, you may begin to doubt that their is a higher power. This disbelief in a higher power makes your world feel very small, and as a result can make you feel like you have little outside support.
If you can relate to any of these signs, perhaps it’s time to reconnect to your intuition by clearing out the blocks that no longer serve you. Below you will find a recent EFT / Tapping workshop I taught on Accessing Your Intuition.
Tapping is a blend of modern psychology and chinese medicine. It works by clearing early childhood trauma, limiting beliefs and patterns of self-sabotage, so that you can tap into a greater trust within yourself… thus opening up your intuition.
Please give it a try and let me know how it goes in the comments below.
You will also see a chart of the Tapping points, so you know where to tap as you make your way through the workshop.
