5 Ways to Create A Self Care Program

In today’s world, it is easy to get swept away with taking care of everything and everyone else, except ourselves! I have been a culprit of this, which is why I thought it would be great to create this video to inspire the importance and value of having a self-care routine. If you are looking for more balance and harmony in your life, then give these a go and see how it feels!

  1. Create time for yourself

It’s important to have time to yourself for many reasons, to decompress and have space to meditate and think about your life. It is in this time that you can discover new inspiration, creative ideas and feelings of peace, because it’s all for you! If you don’t create the time, you will continually feel like a hamster running on an endless wheel. Your mind will be overwhelmed and as a result, your relationships, work and inner peace will be affected. Give yourself permission to take time out just for you.

  1.  Do things that bring relaxation

Now that you have the time, use it effectively. Don’t cram it with more activities. Do things to relax yourself; run a bath, meditate, get a massage, do art… anything that brings peace and light to your soul.

  1.  Have Clear Boundaries

As part of your self-care program, one area that is often missed is having clear boundaries. If you do not have clear boundaries, you will not be able to really honor your choices for self-care. It’s important to have healthy boundaries, it lets you and the people in your life know what’s most important to you. So write down five important ways you can take care of yourself by creating boundaries right now, and don’t be afraid of letting other people know.

  1.  Develop a Spiritual Practice

For me having a spiritual practice, allows me to tune into my highest expression. It’s the place I can go to, which is beyond this world and all its complexities. We all have our own way of getting there, and it is unique to each and everyone of us. Some of the ways I connect to my spirit include; meditation, prayer, journaling, laying under the stars or taking a walk in nature.

  1.  Organize Your Life

In my earlier life, I had a massive tendency of being a scatter-brain. Which would often lead to a very messy room, forgetting where my keys were and other things, plus constantly feeling flustered by life. When I discovered how powerful organization can be, I got on this train and have not hopped off. The more you can organize your life, the better you can take care of yourself. So, let go of the things that you no-longer need. And be ruthless, the more you can let go of, the more energy and space is gifted to you from the universe! Put things in places that make sense. Get friendly with a label gun! That way you know exactly where everything is!
