Finding Forgiveness Even When It Seems Hard

It’s such a pretty word and it’s SO hard to achieve.
Oftentimes, someone will hurt us… or maybe we hurt ourselves…
It’s so important in these moments to find forgiveness—even when it seems like the LAST thing we want to do.
After all, it can be really hard to “see the light” after a huge betrayal.
The pain can be SO visceral!
Here are some signs you need to take steps forward to finding forgiveness.
ONE, you feel ups and downs emotionally.
TWO, you are confused or having too many thoughts.
THREE, you have a fear of moving forward.
FOUR, you are criticizing yourself or others.
FIVE, you are feeling sick or defeated.
SIX, you are getting defensive or attacking others.
SEVEN, you are experiencing self-pity or sadness.
EIGHT, you are feeling awkward in certain situations.
If this is you, it’s time that you find a healthy dose of forgiveness!
Here’s my story:
I was once in a terrible relationship where my ex totally broke my heart.
He was CONSTANTLY cheating on me and I was acting so blind to it… Even though I knew it was happening.
He cheated again and again and I showed zero respect for myself.
Eventually, we broke up and I was destroyed.
I carried that pain and resentment with me for a long time.
It led me to emotionally unavailable men, men who just wanted to be friends, men who didn’t respect me, and men who treated me like dirt.
That’s when I realized that I had some forgiving to do!
The first thing I did was forgive myself. I stopped blaming myself for everything that was going on in those relationships and felt so FREE.
And then, now this is the harder one, I forgave those men.
And while that was really hard, it opened up a new door for me to focus on myself!
It made me feel better and today, we’re going to make you feel better too.
