HOW TO RELEASE A BAD HABIT

Years ago, I was standing in the bathroom staring down into the toilet bowl.

My palms were sweaty, and my pulse was beating fast.

I had just thrown up, and it wasn’t the first time. I had become swept away in the modeling industry and my friends were all doing it.

Apparently, it was the fastest way to get a trim belly. So whenever I had a big meal, I would soon find my fingers plunging deep into my throat. (no, it was not a pretty site!) Now you have to realize…

All I wanted was to look healthy… so I could be on those billboards or commercials showing a slender, healthy woman running on the beach.

But I didn’t realise the most important thing;

Feeling healthy was SO much more important than just looking healthy.

It was a habit that I could not shift, because I had my intentions all wrong.

All I could think about was the small flabby muffin (that looked big to me) sitting on top of my tummy, it would occasionally puff out if I had a hefty bowl of pasta and garlic bread (no wonder!)

The only way I thought I could decrease the muffin size was throwing up after I ate.

What I didn’t realise was that in order to change the bad habit I had to do two things:

  1.  Choose a higher intention
  2.  Create a new habit based on my excitement for the higher outcome

Just trying to change the bad habit would not have worked. To start with, I had to re-create my value system and re-define what I cared about in order for the changes to stick.

I think this is what a lot of people miss when trying on new healthy habits or trying to quit an old habit.

And unfortunately, sometimes you have to arrive at the bottom of the barrel (or in my case, the toilet) in order to realise it’s really time to change your ways.

So…

There I was, sweaty palms, heart beating fast, body trembling. And I finally made the decision.

I want to FEEL healthy, and do whatever I need to do to get there.

That ONE commitment — to prioritize feeling healthy — was the launching pad for my vitality.

That choice made me curious. It opened my thinking. And I began a journey into true health.

Soon I became obsessed with it. But it was a healthy obsession.

And that’s how I changed a bad habit to a good habit.

Each time I took a step in the right direction, going to the gym, juicing, eating cleaner food, listening to my emotions and making time for self care, I would propel myself forward.

That lead me to creating some really awesome healthy habits, that I still stick to today. It was no longer about avoiding the bad habits, but rather being excited for the good ones.

Now that I’ve had the chance to connect with and interview some of the world’s most accomplished people, I’ve noticed a pattern in them as well…

Every successful person gets excited about their healthy habits.

Whether that be in your relationships, physical health, finances, self love, life mission or success, the key is enjoyment. And enjoyment leads to excitement.

That is why I have created this special Tapping session for you, Creating Healthy Habits, to support you in releasing any bad habits and to start enjoying the good ones.
